Mobilizing Support: New Partners, New Regions, Same Mission
As we reflect on this past season, we are filled with gratitude for the growing ways God is using MissioCare Collective to anchor and sustain global workers. Beyond field retreats and individual care, He is opening doors to equip national ministry leaders and partner directly with local sending churches. Thank you for holding the rope with us through your prayers and support as we enter this next chapter.
Sustaining Global Workers on the Frontlines
The theme of this retreat was “Soul Care – Caring for the Soul of Leaders,” the very heartbeat of MCC. By God’s grace, the Holy Spirit moved powerfully, recommissioning, restoring, and deepening the faith of Global Workers and volunteers as they encountered Christ.
Colossians 2:11 offers a profound picture of this encounter: an inward transformation where Christ cuts away the old, weary nature of sin, pride, and self-centeredness. This pruning prepares us to become vessels through whom the “River of the Water of Life” flows to the nations (Revelation 22:1–2). As God transforms our hearts, we become conduits of His healing grace, carrying the Gospel to every tribe, tongue, and nation.
That’s precisely what we witnessed in Cape Town. As the Holy Spirit tenderly worked in the hearts of those who attended, old burdens were laid down, faith was renewed, and hearts were strengthened for continued service. Fifty-five women representing 12 nations encountered Christ, were renewed in their faith, and were strengthened to carry His grace and Gospel into the world.
Building on what God did in Cape Town, Andi and Gi Gi will travel to Migdal, Israel in October, to care for and serve Global Workers in the region as MCC partners again with Azmera, a Member Care organization.
Azmera Retreats provide a unique opportunity for Global Workers to step away from the demands and intensity of ministry, quiet their hearts, listen to the Lord, and allow the Holy Spirit to restore what has become depleted. In the midst of their calling, this sacred space will invite them to slow down, receive from Christ, and be renewed in His presence.
Our desire and prayer for each Global Worker is for them to encounter the living Christ, be renewed in faith, anchored in His presence, and strengthened to carry His grace and Gospel to the nations.
Expanding Member Care to the Global Church
When we think about global missions, we often picture expatriate missionaries serving far from home. And while caring for these global workers remains central to MissioCare Collective’s mission, our calling extends beyond expatriates. We have a growing desire to come alongside national ministries and the leaders and staff who faithfully serve within them.
National ministry leaders often carry enormous responsibility with remarkably limited resources. They lead teams, shepherd people, navigate complex challenges, and pour themselves into the work of the Gospel many times without the support systems, training, or member-care resources that many expatriate workers have available to them. Yet their spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical health is just as vital to the long-term effectiveness of their ministry. Healthy leaders are better equipped to lead healthy ministries.
In just a few days, our president and founder, Stan Horrell, will travel to Jinja, Uganda, to visit one such ministry. During his time there, he will spend time with the executive leadership, listening to their challenges, encouraging them in their calling, and helping them consider practical ways to strengthen the resilience and well-being of both their leaders and staff.
This is an important expression of what we believe member care should look like: coming alongside those who proclaim the Gospel. The Church is global, and so is the need for care. Whether serving across cultures as an expatriate global worker or faithfully leading a ministry within one’s own nation, those who give themselves to the work of the Gospel need others to walk alongside them.
MissioCare Collective is deeply honored to partner with national leaders, ministry organizations, and global workers in communities around the world. We believe this is part of God’s invitation to the Big-C Church, caring well for those who have answered His call to serve. As God continues to open doors, we look forward to expanding this aspect of our ministry and making member care accessible to more leaders and teams around the world.
Church Partnerships
At MissioCare Collective, we believe healthy global care flows best when it is deeply rooted in the local church. While we are privileged to walk alongside workers directly on the field, the sending church is the primary anchor for their relational, emotional, and spiritual support. One of our favorite ways to serve is by standing right beside local congregations—whether that means helping during a crisis, building care structures, or joining a church team face-to-face on the field to minister to their workers together.
This October, Derek and Tori Schuessler (and boys!) will be putting this into action as we travel to Thailand alongside a sending church to care for their workers directly on the ground.
To help us deepen these vital relationships, we are thrilled to share that Randy Thomas is joining our team to help lead our Church Partnerships! Randy brings 50+ years of local church pastoring experience along with a huge heart for equipping local leaders to champion those they send out.

Proactive Care: The Heart of Our Relational Model
Our approach centers on a simple conviction that global workers thrive when care is proactive, holistic, and relational. Rather than waiting for a crisis to force an intervention, we walk alongside workers through every season. We want to build deep, trusted relationships that endure over the long haul. It’s a "cradle-to-grave" presence that allows us to offer continuous emotional, spiritual, and relational support before burnout or isolation sets in.
As the need for this steady, ongoing support continues to grow across the mission field, we are actively expanding our team by bringing on new Care Specialists. These team members are specifically equipped to embody our relational distinctives. They serve as dedicated, trusted companions who meet workers right where they are. By adding Care Specialists to our collective, we are increasing our capacity to ensure no worker has to walk through the triumphs or trials of ministry alone. Be on the lookout for more updates in the coming months as we officially introduce these new specialists, and please join us in praying for them as they raise support and prepare to step into these vital roles!

Daily Care: Please hold up the global workers who are navigating intense transitions, moves, and daily field challenges, that Christ would sustain them with His presence.
